I have multiple java Applet games for which I need to implement a global high score system. Each game currently displays the user's current high score at game over. I need a database set up (I have set up a mySQL for this) that will store the top 25 or so player names and scores for each game. Then there will need to be a method for the java applet to compare the player's score to the database scores, prompt for a username and update the database scores if the player score is higher than the lowest high score, then display the scores within the applet. My server supports mySQL and PHP but does not support java servlets.
This can be set up in a sample applet with code that I will then be able to copy/paste into my existing applets. It needs to be set up in such a way that I can easily add the same functionality to multiple game Applets -with detailed instructions of any changes/additions that will need to be made to the database, code and queries.
