This is my proposal for the creation of a better way to present our Portfolio under Joomla.
Please check out our NON-JOOMLA site at [url removed, login to view] This website will be converted to Joomla (not a part of this project)
Now click on one of the graphics. This is how we're currently displaying our portfolio.
We like how the popup works (tabs to display more information about any given item). We don't like the actual browser creating a new window, however.
That's why we're hoping to do this same sort of thing using LightBox 2.0 technology for Joomla.
An example of this can be seen by clicking on the example images at [url removed, login to view]
As you can see, the images appear over top of the website... but not in a new window. We would need this sort of thing to be modified to also include the ability to switch between TABS as you can currently do on [url removed, login to view]
In addition to this.. we would also like FLV video capabilites to be added to the Lightbox technology.
Also, we prefer if the background website dims when a new lightbox appears as demonstrated on [url removed, login to view]
I believe the best way to realize this feature would be to make it as a plugin for the JCE wysiwyg editor [url removed, login to view] as opposed to making it a component. This way, we could essentially attach this "portfolio" information to any image that we post on our website. And this will also give us full control over how we lay images out in our content sections.
But.. I don't even know if this is possible. So, another method of executing this idea might need to be conceived.
