Youtube is the preferred site for deploying my video projects, however I am unable to get an acceptable video or audio quality no matter what types of encoders and video formats I send to Youtube, as they recompress all files to low bitrate FLV files. Some users have successfully posted videos with high quality video and/or stereo audio using various methods. So far, none of these tricks have worked for me. I am looking for a reliable solution for uploading high quality video and stereo audio that works with Youtube as of the date the project is completed and is repeatable by me. The solution must work with a Mac and OS X. I have access to iMovie HD, Compressor, and whatever open source tools are available for Mac. Some examples of videos with high quality video and/or audio: [url removed, login to view] [url removed, login to view] [url removed, login to view]
1) Complete and fully-functional working instructions on how to encode and upload high quality videos with stereo ([url removed, login to view], 16 bit stereo using 128kbps MP3) sound to YouTube. Instructions must work on OS X and may include the use of: iMovie HD, Compressor, and any other open-source tools that run natively on OS X. 2) A test video file in DV format will be provided to the winning bidder which must be available to view on YouTube to demonstrate the quality of the solution. 3) At least 2 other video/audio encoding examples (previously uploaded is ok) produced using the method described in the solution must be available to view on YouTube to demonstrate the quality of the solution. 4) A complete description of options which can be changed, limitations of the encoding methods, trade-offs, and so on must be included. The point of this project is to provide a reliable, reusable method for posting consistently high quality video and stereo sound. Some HD videos on YouTube "stutter" in my player. The ability to reduce the bitrate to avoid this would be necessary. Smooth playback is also important.
