We are a web development company in the UK requiring some desktop development.
We are currently building a project, part of which allows the user to upload their home video to the web site.
The video can be either avi or mpeg or as many other formats as is practical.
The application required will provide a simple branded interface to allow the user to browse their file system for a video and send to our site.
This video needs to be converted to flash video (.flv) format and uploaded to the server via HTTP to a PHP script which we will prepare. This process needs to be seemless and not require any more user interaction than the initial "Send" button.
The system will provide user feedback in the form of a progress bar based on the total size to upload and the current upload status. An ETA on upload is disirable but not required.
The application can be build in the programmers preferred language.
We are open to suggestions for this project. If there is a simpler route then please let us know.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
Windows XP minimum.
Any other operating systems are desirable, specifically Mac's.
