This Flash widget retrieves jokes from a database and displays them on the widget. If the user clicks on title of the widget, the user will be transported the site where he can see the rest of the joke. This flash widget consists of two pieces. The PHP/MySQL server component which retrieves 10 joke (and associated answer URLs) randomly based on the categories ((e.g. blonde jokes and/or knock-knock jokes). The user can go clicks a forward or backward buttons between jokes, (only one joke is displayed at a time). If no buttons are hit with 10 seconds, the next joke is displayed. If the user clicks on “answer?? button, a new window opens up and goes to the answer URL. The Flash widget needs to come in 7 sizes…all standard web sizes (e.g. 250x250, 728x90, 120x240 etc.). The programming should be the same for all, just the display sizing will be different. It maybe possible to do the server side piece as a customized RSS feed, but I will let you decide the best approach. It would be nice to have the widget run on the desktop as well as a webpage. I believe the SpringWidget Flash SDK lets you do this. Chosen project developers must sign NDA. They must be available daily on Yahoo/MSN IM to discuss project issues/status.
