We have SQL Servers that recently started receiving relatively large numbers of INSERTS per second. During peak periods there are about 500 - 1000 INSERTs per second. The tables are filling up fast, and we need someone who knows SQL Server very well to modify / add indexes to the tables.. Basically just optimize the servers.
We *think although we are requesting your expertise on this that the best way to do this would be to have an INSERT master database server and a SELECT database server. Perhaps the master database where all the inserts are going on can replicate to the select database server in real-time? Perhaps every hour - we dont know.
Please only respond if you are very well versed in Microsoft SQL Server and have worked with multi-gigabyte Databases.
Good money paid for good work.
By the way, this will be an ongoing project. So if you response make sure you can devote a few hours a month to this project.
