We run a modified CRE Loaded [url removed, login to view] edition of osCommerce, selling t-shirts in the UK.
Each product has attributes assigned for each size (s, M, L, XL, XXL). With the standard stock system, stock quantities are only subtracted from the product's stock level as the attributes due not have stock level assignments. We need the system to be modified so that once a product is ordered, the stock level of the specific attribute is depleted.
We have had a coder try this, but without success. Looking at the osCommerce Contributions site, it looks like there are a couple there that would provide a good start for this project. Please note, the most obvious 'Quantity Per Attribute' contribution looks OK but will need work as it alters the product edit pages which now use the WSISYG editor.
So basically, what we need is for our checkout process is as follows:
Customer adds a t-shirt with a specific attribute (e.g. Bananaman T-Shirt - Size: 'XL') to their cart. Checks-out successfully. Our system then shows us that this product has one less XL than before. If it drops the stock level to zero, that attribute should not be available until the stocks have been replenished through the product's pages in Administration.
