Assist me in learning Access. I have developed a small application in filemaker-7 for a non-profit organization (30 tables, 20 screens). I wish to port this to Access, and I need help getting started. I hate tutorials. I want help with small pieces of the project, which I will then use to educate myself. No knowledge of filemaker is required. First Issue: I have 3 tables. One with contact data (nameID, firstName, lastName, addressID), another with relationships (relationshipID, parentID, childID), and another with addresses (addressID, adrLine1, adrLine2, city, state, etc). I need a simple screen that displays the contact’s ID, name, and address. In one section of the screen, information about the contact’s children is displayed, and in another section, information about the contact’s parents is displayed. Eventually, I will add functionality so that this data can be changed, or new data added (a new childID added for that contact, for example). This is NOT part of this mini-project. NOTE: for future mini-projects, of similar size, I will need relatively rapid turnaround -- on the order of 2 days.
An access file with the tables, quieries, and forms required to display the data as described above. I can send you the tables, or your can just create your own (there are so few). Everything should be compatible with the eventual migration of the data tables to a different engine.
