This project is to build a dynamic web site application used to run a law firm’s website.
In building the application, the ease of adding new content should be kept in mind. In particular, the following areas should be modified in the following ways:
1. Attorney (referred to as “Our People??)??" ability to add / edit attorneys, including education, practice areas.
2. Practice Areas (referred to as “Our Services?? in reference site) ??" add new practice areas, edit descriptions
3. Publications ??" add new publications associated with a practice area
4. News & Events ??" add new general news events
The application should be built using PHP using an existing PHP framework (such as Seagull) that allows for database independence and templates.
Basically, the functionality behind this site ??" [[login to view URL]][1]??" should be duplicated. However, not all functionality needs to be copied. Based on what is available from the front page, only the following sections need to be copied:
1. About Us
2. Our Services (Practice Areas generals) ??" search functionality not needed, but merely practice area listing.
3. Our People - no search functionality
4. News & Events ??" In the Headlines & Press Room & Events
5. Publications ??" Articles & Newsletters
Careers
7. Briefcase ??" this is actually a mailing list that keys into new articles based on a practice area.
The design is not important. What is important is the site design is put in templates that can be easily updated, and the core content is controlled by a user / password protected administration panel.
Comments about how it will be implemented will be appreciated in reviewing bids.
