I am looking to develop a piece of software that will simplify and aid in the calculation of food consumption. I have attached a page from a book to show you the format of the info I already have. I would like to believe that this info could be scanned from the existing book pages and transferred to cells such as in a Microsoft Excel file. I would like this data to be accessible through a window in which a daily food calculator would compile information with each meal entry. Each of the nine columns would automatically populate upon clicking the specific food from a searchable drop down menu. Each time you enter another meal, a running calculation of each column would occur. The software would provide running totals of the total number of calories consumed, total grams of protein, percentage of calories from protein, total carbohydrates, percentage of calories from carbohydrates, total fat grams, percentage of calories from fat grams, total saturated fat grams, percentage of calories from saturated fat and running totals for cholesterol sodium and fiber. A person could also enter their desired percentage ratios and based upon what had already been consumed recommendations would be made by the program. They would also enter the total number of calories they desired to consume daily. Depending on how smart the software could be made and at what cost, an additional function could be added that would search out the foods that would fit their ratios closely or even determine how much of which food they could have based on what they have already consumed.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
need to get input from programmer as to what is best. I am not a technical person.
