This project is an educational set of interconnected articles related to Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. The intended reader is a small business owner who knows little about the internet. They may have a very simply web site or none at all and they don’t know anything about SEM, SEO or PPC.
Each article should be about 250-1,000 words in length depending on the topic. The emphasis should be on adequately covering the topic, the quality and not the quantity of information. In fact, every effort should be made to cover the topic as briefly and concisely as possible. If it is felt that the suggested content could be organized a slightly different way, you are free to do so. However, every effort should be made to follow the outline presented.
The author should provide evidence they are adept on the topics of SEM, SEO and PPC including, but not limited to previously written articles of a similar nature and a brief biography in this field. Do not waste your time and mine by sending generic resumes and statements about how good a writer you are. Unless you can provide specific, relevant qualifications, your bid will not be considered.
The maximum bid is $100. For anyone knowledgeable on the subject, this should be very easy work. Anyone who is not familiar with the topic will find it more of a research project than a writing project.
Please familiarize yourself with the deliverables and speak to them in your bid response.
Please provide a timeline for completing the project and indicate if you intend on completing it before the deadline. If you will require more time than the two weeks allotted, please explain why.
The subject matter presented under each title, is offered only as a guideline. It is expected that the author will provide a more comprehensive discussion of each topic.
The articles must be original, but may contain references. Embedded links which point to more in-depth information are encouraged. The articles should be designed such that each article is compelling enough that the reader wants to read the next one. Each topic / article builds on the previous one.
At the conclusion, the small business person should be very excited about having a web site. They should understand that the purpose of the site is to generate sales leads and that PPC and SEO are what will drive prospects to the site.
Before the articles are written, I want to see a detailed outline which indicates the topics covered and any links that will be used as sources of additional information. The actual writing should not begin until the outline has been approved. While general information may be derived from sites who offer SEO and SEM, the copy should not be plagiarized. There should be no links to these sites as it would be construed as an endorsement of their products or services.
The copy should be developed in Microsoft Word and delivered in “Track Changes?? mode. Please plan on one revision and perhaps more if you do not adhere to the specifications or your grammer needs extensive rework.
