I need to rename a computer as follows [url removed, login to view] administrator:password 1) when the computer belongs to a workgroup 2) When the computer belongs to a domain I know one can use Microsoft netdom on win2000/2003 but because I need this program to run on any win NT/2000/XP so I cannot use NetDom and also WSH scripting may not be available on the target PC so you may not use WSH scripting. This program is meant to be used after imaging a new PC. Your code will be run once when the target PC reboots the first time. Your code should: 1) if this PC belongs to a domain (mydomain), disconnect all mapped network resources, use the administrator and password to disjoin it - make it belong to the workgroup of same name (mydomain), change the computer name to 'NewPC' then rejoin this PC to the domain (mydomain). 2) If this computer does not belong to a domain, simply change its name to 'NewPC' 3) Reboot when finish
