Python program to connect to db2 using IBM DB2 ODBC Driver

I want a small program, which connects python to db2 using IBM DB2 ODBC Driver.

The program should pass some query to db2 and then get the result back in python.

To prove that your program works, make it do the following steps

1. Create table egg (id int, name varchar(30));

2. Select id,name from egg;

3. Use python to print the result

4. Update egg set name = 'ok' where id = 1;

Your solution should also be able to convert the following DBMS data types into corresponding Python types:

- datetime (or whatever it is called in DB2)

- varchar

- int

Use following connection strings to connect to the remote server:

Dsn=PDB2;Driver={IBM DB2 ODBC DRIVER};database=MDBASIS;port=1234;protocol=TCPIP;uid=username;pwd=password

I want an exe file of the code. And also I do not want to install any drivers or to run any setup in the computer. Everything should work by clicking that

exe file. You may include dll files with your solution. I have db2 installed on a computer (locally or remote), so with your code,

I should only need to change the connection parameters.

The Python code should run under Windows. The Python version should be 2.6 or later (including 3.1).
