We wish to build a website to allow a person to run a sports sweepstakes game with their friends.
A person will come to our site, create an account for themselves (A Game), then choose which Competition they wish to run the game on (for instance the 2004 Soccer Euro competition). The user will then invite game users to join in the game by issuing them a username and password to log into their game.
A game user can look at each round of a competition and pick a home team win, away team win, or a draw.
The site administrator (us) will enter the results of each actual fixture as it happens, and each users 'picks' will be matched against the result giving the game user a score for that fixture. each person playing a game can then log in each week and see what ranking they have in their game. If they pick the correct results of the most fixtures, they will be winning the game.
each game will be played over the number of rounds in the competition.
We, the site administrators, will load competitions, rounds, fixtures, teams and results.
Each fixture has a time and date. A game user cannot make their pick once this time and date has past. So once a fixture has commenced, the user is locked from making a pick on that fixture. The game user can always log in and edit their pick for a fixture ONLY if the fixture has not begun.
The site does not have to be 'pretty' with great page design as yet - that will come later. what we are looking for here is functionality first.
Note - there is no money involved for the users - this is only for 'fun in the office' betting.
We have attached an access database with tables and relationships that we have come up with so far - this may be of help in your design.
We want this done in ASPX / Access at this stage - we will want conversion to SQL server once completed.
