2d Pixel artist w/ a little art director skill
Budget $12-17 USD / time
Looking for a 2d artist to create pixel or simple art for a top-down tower defense game. Think something between Mindustry and Factorio and Shape.io. The attached image is my programmer art for the current prototype. The main idea of the game is to emulate the factory construction we love from those existing games, but create a much more dynamic and interesting combat mechanic by having a wide variety of enemies and defense structures. The terrain spans infinitely and is procedurally generated (not shown in the attached image)
Looking for someone who can bring our ideas to life and create a consistent 2d world. Each tile is currently 32x32 pixels to keep costs low, but open to feedback.
The project is not well defined yet, so looking for some level of art director skill to help us create a consistent and interesting immersive world with terrain, miners, factories, gun turrets, and monsters.
Artist would also be responsible for creating UI elements like huds, dialogs, and buttons, and eventually banner and page art for a Kickstarter page and Steam page.
Cost is a very important factor right now as all expenses are out of my personal pocket. Our current goal is to get to a stage that would create a good Kickstarter, after which the budget should become more friendly.
We would expect to own the IP for the art/concepts you contribute to the game and expect to receive not only pngs, and sprite sheets, but also original working files like photoshop or adobe illustrator.
Prefer hourly, but open to incremental milestone bids. Our budget is about $500/mo until Kickstarter, and work may come in small waves as development proceeds.
Please include with your bid any information about previous similar work you may have done, and a sentence or two of your idea of where to take the game.
