Windows Check Data Extraction App

I handle a steady flow of paper checks and want to turn each one into clean, structured data without leaving my Windows workstation. The goal is a custom desktop application that talks to a TWAIN-compatible scanner (or lets me import existing images/PDFs), locates the check automatically, and pulls every critical field—MICR line, amount (numbers and words), date, payee, and memo—into a single CSV or lightweight database table. Accuracy matters more than speed. Please pair MICR decoding with OCR (Tesseract, Google Vision, or a comparable engine) and flag any low-confidence characters so I can correct them in an on-screen editor before export. No credit-card payment processing is required right now; this phase focuses strictly on reliable scanning and data extraction. Deliverables • Windows installer or portable .exe, built in the language/framework of your choice (C#, .NET, C++, Java—whatever suits the task). • Fully commented source code. • README covering build steps, scanner setup, and data-export format.
