DATABASE:

We use Oracle9i to create the database tables .The Shopping Cart Application uses seven tables to store information about books and orders. The tables used in the Shopping Cart application are:

● Book Details: Store information about the books, such as book title, author and publisher of the book.

● Category Details: Store information about the book categories, such as category ID and name of the category.

● Order Details: Store information about the order placed by an end user, such as order ID and book ID. It contains separate record for each book purchased.

● Temp_Detail: Store information about the books that have been searched by the end user.

● User_Auth: Store the username and password for various end users.

● User_Profile: Store information about all registered users, such as name, address and phone number.

● Order_Table: Stores information about the orders placed, such as ordered and userID. It contains separate record for each order placed by an end user.

● JAVA: For designing the front end of the project JSP is used. All the designing of the forms is done in JSP.

● ORACLE: we have used ORACLE 9i as the backend platform for storing the database of the project.

Installation Guidance of Shopping Cart Application

The shopping cart application uses JSP as the server side scripting language, JavaScript for client side data validations, HTML for data display and Oracle as the database to store

The various information, such as book information or customer information. The requirements for running the shopping cart application are:

● Install Apache Tomcat 4.0.4 on the server.

● creat the shoppingcart folder in C:Program FilesApache Tomcat [url removed, login to view] folder. Save all the sourse code files in the shoppingcart folder.

● use Oracle SQL-Plus common line utility to create the database tables.

● create a data source name (DSN) with the name data, to access the data stored in the tables. A DSN is a source name for the database and provides connectivity between a java program and database.

● After completing these requirements, select Start->Programs->Apache Tomcat 4.0->Start Tomcat to start Apache Tomcat 4.0.

● Then run the Shopping Cart application from the web browser. Specify the path of the [url removed, login to view] file in the address bar of the web browser to start the Shopping Cart Application. The path of [url removed, login to view] file is [url removed, login to view] where [url removed, login to view] is the machine number of the computer where Apache Tomcat server is running and source file are copied.
