Next.js Auth0 Role Integration

I have a [login to view URL] application already running on Vercel with a Neon Postgres backend and now I need robust, token-based authorization added. I’ve chosen Auth0 as the authentication provider and I want three specific roles wired in—Admin, User, and Moderator—so that each API route and page can be gated appropriately. Here’s what I need completed: • Configure Auth0 for my domain, turn on JWT access tokens, and store any needed secrets safely in Vercel’s environment variables. • Create a clean, reusable auth utility in the [login to view URL] codebase that decodes the token once, attaches it to the request context, and exposes role information throughout the app. • Protect server actions, API routes, and client pages so that Admin-only dashboards, Moderator tools, and normal User areas respect the role rules. • Provide a sample role management script or SQL migration for Neon that lets me assign Admin, User, or Moderator flags to any account. • Add a simple middleware check that redirects unauthenticated visitors to the login page and returns 401/403 JSON for API calls when roles don’t match. • Ship concise README notes on how to test locally (dev keys) and how to promote the setup to production on Vercel. Acceptance criteria: logging in through Auth0 issues a JWT containing role claims; hitting /admin without the Admin role shows “Access denied”; updating a user’s role in the database is immediately reflected on the next token refresh; all secrets are loaded from Vercel’s dashboard, not hard-coded. The code is in a private GitHub repo; once you accept the job I’ll add you. A clean, documented PR that I can merge without breaking the current build will mark the job complete.
