need a simple function (or group of functions) that will allow for the pass through of sound from a microphone to a headset as well as get recorded to a file. The microphone would always be "on". The sound would not pass through to the speakers until a button was pressed on a VB6 form. When the "mic" button is pressed (button down event), the microphone would become active, pushing the microphone input sound to the speakers. When the button up event is reached, the mic would become inactive.
Ideally it would be great if any current sounds playing through the speakers would mute between the button down and button up events (except the mic of course). This may or not be possible. It is not critical to the operation of this code project.
The final product would be the source code to install this feature into an existing VB6 application and a short sample VB6 project demonstrating its function.
