At this point I have working prototype boards and completed working units. The problem I have is that at present the way I have made the boards is not compatible with standard machine assembly. Right now I hand assemble the boards using prototype boards hand cut to size and I have the resistors vertically inserted to save space. The boards are between 1 and 2 inches square approximately, depending on the circuit. The parts count varies from about 25 to 60 components depending on the circuit. There is no problem with using surface mount components. The prototypes are all leaded and hand inserted at this point however. I have perused programs to aid in doing this myself but lack the technical know how needed to make it happen. From what I have seen from various searches, I need to present a manufacturer of stuffed printed circuit boards a Gerber file in order to enable them to produce a product that I can then use to complete the assembly myself..
