Hello, my name is Jakub Tyszko and i want to enter the game industry and hopefully create a company soon. The below (wall of text) is my first commercial intended project (written in generic format) i will need help with from a programmer. You should be able to find how much work this requires, time and money. I am not very rich (rather the opposite) so i will be looking for the best quality from cheapest category. Please tell me upfront how much you want for this job so i can say if it is realistic for my budget I like comments in code and dislike short name of variables (str < strenght).
Game will advance with ingame date (year, month, day), player can play the time or pause it, when playing one day takes one IRL second to pass.
There is at least one event per week that have a semi random chance to appear on each day as player advance the time. An event will be a text merged from many different texts, a logical tree for example if text number 1 is chosen then the following text will be text number 11, 12 or 13, if then text number 13 will be chosen then following text will be either 131, 132 or 133. I will handle the text. Since events will be different also type of event must be included so maybe A1, A11 A12 A13, B1 and so on where the first letter is category of event. What kind of event will appear will depend on game status, does character stats are more, equal or less then or is player working on a project? Is character assigned to a project? The dependencies as well as outcome effects will affect and make use of values of characters and values of world status. Characters can lose or gain stats from [url removed, login to view] the text i will put in but i need a well constructed framework. The amount of events and text must be open for expansion.
A database of characters (several hundred slots) where each have around 20 stats, some stats will be hidden for player. The stats are semi random generated when character is created and stats values have max and min amount which is affected by player upgrades that he can buy with ingame money. Not all characters are created at start (only few as starting point). The characters will have semi random generated faces, where first an blank head pic is assigned then one of 3 eyes layers that are labeled as fitting the head assigned, same goes with ears, mouth and few more. Some of the pic variations can also have a stat requirement. The amount of variations is to be flexible, to create place for easy adding additional variations. Characters names will be randomly taken from a list. Player is to be able to acquire the character by using ingame money and this will make the character available for the player to use in projects and interact with. Characters have a wage based on one of characters stat, wage is subtracted from player ingame money every month.
The player creates a project by setting up three phases, in each phase player can choose what characters at his disposal to assign and their role, items and location the player have aquired by pursching with ingame money. Depending on complexity (amount of items and character s) and even some character stats as well as upgrades the project will take between 1 week and 6 weeks to create ingame time. As the project is finished the player can choose to finalize it (reveal it to the game world) or hold, when he decides to finalize it then it will be saved in the game world and give income to player as well as appear in events. The complete project will have its own stats as an outcome and combination of all involved (characters, items, location), some items and character together give negative outcome, some give positive and same goes for locations.
