I need someone to write the code and create the graphics for a new business idea I have. It is based loosely on the existing business called SpeedQuizzing (see [login to view URL]), my idea is for bingo played on smartphone in pubs and clubs. Bingo is a very popular game in the UK and some pubs already do paper ticket bingo games but my idea is to also utilise smartphones in the same way that the SpeedQuizzing does. I have the information and requirements ready and I would like to hear from you if you think you could help me.
The host will compere the evening and will run the hosting software from a pc or mac. Participants will then download / launch the mobile app (iOS or Android) to join the game. I will need to buy h/ware for this i.e. a hub/router so it in effect becomes a private n/w - this is to ensure that if the internet goes down that the game can continue to function (or I take a chance on the wifi being available at all times). Once all participants have joined then the game can begin. do not know if you understand the game of Bingo but if you look online you will see how it works (look for UK Bingo as opposed to Bingo in other countries) - I have attached a real UK ticket so that you know what it looks like. For info, UK Bingo is played with 90 numbers.
I have played Bingo for a number of years and I know how 'land Bingo' works i.e. Bingo played in an official Bingo hall, eg Mecca. In the UK version, the game is split into 3 prizes: the first prize is known as '1 line'...a player wins when they are the first person to match all 5 numbers within any distinct line in 1 of the 15-numbered sections (a ticket is divided into 6 x 15 number sections, i.e. making 90 balls in total), the second prize is awarded when a player is the first to complete 2 lines of 5 numbers within one of the 15 number sections (known as '2 lines') and the final award in that game is awarded to the player who first completes all 15 numbers within one of the 15 sections (known as a 'full house'). Should more than 1 player win on the same number then the prize is shared between the winning players, eg if 2 people are waiting on number 50 to complete a 'full house' and number 50 is drawn out before anybody else wins, then they both win half of the [login to view URL] what do i need the hosting software to do on the host pc?
Bingo Ticket storage, delivery to player device and local storage / tracking of tickets:
Tickets need to be loaded on to the host pc for each game in the session. For example, game 1 might be a blue ticket, game 2 a green ticket, etc etc.
I will need enough tickets for each game - up to 64 per game (for 64 players max), for example if there are 64 players then I will need 640 unique tickets to be loaded into the host pc for use by the hosting software (for 10 different games) - remembering that a ticket contains all 90 numbers split into 6 x 15 number sections and each 15 number section on each ticket needs its own serial number so that I can validate any claims from the host pc.
I am also considering allowing people without smartphones to play on paper tickets (eg older people). I will therefore need a way of loading up the serial numbers of the paper tickets into the host pc hosting software. Should a player win on a paper ticket then the idea is that I will be able to automatically check if the claim is valid (the current number called must be on the winning line/2lines/house in 1 section of the ticket - see above for UK bingo rules). If you want to see what I am referring to please see the UK Bingo ticket example I attached to my advert.
I have more information to send as there isn't enough room to post all my requirements and info, please have a read and get back to me. Regards. Paul.
