Port our Alan Watts, iOS App to Android (without iOS source code). The app must be designed and organized such that it is easy to create more similar apps, so generic library will be implemented first, then the app will be built with this library.
The app must function exactly as the iOS app does, including running in the background, and interruption handling.
The app is an audio player that contains a library of collections, each collection contains several audio items. The collections and items in each collection will be defined by a configuration file in the project.
Collections have titles, and Album art.
Each Item in a collection has a parent collection, a title length, description, and Album Art.
The main screen will show the collections list.
Selecting a collection list will show the audio items in the collection.
Selecting an item plays that item in the player view.
The player view can pause/play, fast forward, rewind, go to next and previous track, set volume, toggle continuous playback, favorite the item
There is a button to always go to the "Now Playing " item. Even if you navigate away from the playback screen.
The collections and items list will have a small speaker icon to indicate which collection and item is currently playing at all times, or none if no lecture is playing.
After an item plays, the next item plays if in continuous mode
Each item remembers it's playback position.
The user can favorite an item.
The user can filter a collection by all, all unplayed items, and favorite items
There will be an about screen
All source code must be provided.
Look, feel, function, and performance must match iOS version, and be compatible with all the most common devices and OS versions.
