We have an access Database that we put together over 10 years ago. it was added to, modified and updated to work on newer versions of Access,
Currently, we add data 5 days a week by collecting the information on paper then going to a desktop computer and enter the information.
We want to move the data we already have to a new online database. We want to be able to add data with a smart phone app or a desktop computer.
We would like 3 levels of access. Level 1, enter data into new record. Level 2 modify data in any record level 3 administrative level, where usernames , passwords, level access are added edited or deleted .
We use [login to view URL] to host our websites. [login to view URL] . We would like to put the database there.
We are OK moving away from MS Access because it changes regularly
We can tolerate locking the database to one user at a time, for data entry. If user level 1 doesn't finish and unlock Level 2 can unlock.
There are several entries that are cumulative numbers. For example, a water meter reading, or a gas meter reading. Those entries should be compared to the previous entry and the difference displayed immediately to the user.
We are open to suggestions and would like to see samples of your work.
At this point I am leaning towards MySQL and WordPress as front end because these are supported by our web host but we are open to suggestions.
