Thank you for the detailed description of your project, 5000 rows is a lot to compare manually. I would suggest that you have a system developed that takes advantage of all of the automation power MS Access can offer by using VBA. I can imagine a system that that allows the user to simply choose the file from your sister company then runs a VBA module to compare each row/ field and tags the rows that need to be reviewed, Then the user can go through the tagged rows one at a time displaying the fields highlighted that are different. Once the row has been reviewed that row should have a field containing the data updated so that the user knows where they left off. I have over 40 years of experience as a software developer. The main focus of my career has been with GUIs starting with upgrading Mission Control Center for the Space Shuttle program at Johnson Space Center. Over the years I have implemented many projects with MS Access/ VBA that have amazed my clients as to how much of their tedious tasks I have been able to automate.
