I need an outdoor, reliable servo motor paired with a simple arm that will swing a hanging bell on command as part of my home-automation setup. The unit only has to rotate or spin freely, no incremental position or speed tuning is required. Here’s what I’m looking for: • Mechanical design: an arm long enough to swing an 8inch lever 90-100 degrees back and forth via connecting rod. • Motor selection or custom winding: torque needs to overcome the bell’s inertia (approx. 80lb), run off a 12 V DC supply and solar charger, and swing freely when idle. • Electronics: a straightforward wireless trigger input that I can later connect to a momentary pushbutton. • Deliverables: dimensioned drawings of the arm and mounts, a complete bill of materials, wiring diagram, and a short video or stills proving the mechanism rings a bell successfully on a bench test. Must be able to mount to the bell stand without drilling (hose clamps maybe). If anything in the brief is unclear—especially torque calculations, power constraints, or mounting details—let’s pin it down before you start so the first version you send me can already be function-ready.

Hello, I reviewed your project "Custom Home Automation Servo Arm" and immediately identified the key areas that need attention. I’m confident I can step in and deliver a clean, efficient, and production-ready solution without unnecessary delays. I bring solid, hands-on experience in Bill of Materials (BOM) Analysis, 3D Modelling, Arduino, Mechanical Design, Automation, Home Automation, 3D CAD and Electronics, and I’ve successfully handled similar projects where performance, scalability, and reliability were critical. My focus is not just to “complete the task,” but to ensure your system works smoothly under real-world conditions. What you can expect from me: • Deep expertise in Bill of Materials (BOM) Analysis, 3D Modelling, Arduino, Mechanical Design, Automation, Home Automation, 3D CAD and Electronics with practical problem-solving • Clear, fast communication with consistent progress updates • Clean, maintainable, and scalable implementation • Proactive approach — I identify and fix hidden issues, not just reported ones If I see opportunities to improve performance, UX, or stability, I’ll bring them to you with clear recommendations — no guesswork, just practical solutions. I’m ready to get started immediately and bring this across the finish line the right way. Let’s connect. Best regards, Tim Koenitzer

Hello, I’m a mechanical/mechatronics designer with experience developing custom motion systems, actuator-driven mechanisms, and low-voltage automation hardware for outdoor applications. I can help engineer a reliable bell-ringing mechanism using a properly sized 12V DC motor/servo system paired with a linkage arm capable of swinging the 8-inch lever through the required 90–100° motion while handling the inertia of your approximately 80 lb bell assembly. My approach would include torque calculations, linkage geometry optimization, and selection of weather-resistant components suitable for solar-powered operation. I can also design the mounting system to clamp securely to the existing bell stand without drilling, using hose clamps or custom bracket solutions.

Hello, I can design a robust mechanical and electronic solution for your bell-swinging automation system, including torque sizing, servo/motor selection, linkage design, and a reliable 12V solar-powered control interface. This is a mechanically demanding application (≈80 lb inertia load), so I would begin by validating the required torque, acceleration profile, and linkage geometry to ensure the system operates smoothly and safely without overstressing the motor or mounts. I can also design the arm mechanism to achieve the required 90–100° swing using a durable crank/rod system optimized for outdoor use. I can deliver: • Dimensioned mechanical drawings for arm and mounting (clamp-based, no drilling) • Motor/actuator selection or custom drivetrain recommendation • Wiring diagram + simple wireless trigger interface (expandable to pushbutton control) • Bill of materials with weather-resistant components • Bench test validation (video or photos of functional prototype) I also ensure the design is practical for real-world outdoor conditions, including vibration, weather exposure, and long-term reliability. I’d be happy to clarify torque and mounting assumptions before finalizing the concept so the first build is fully functional. Thanks, Christopher.

Hi, I'm a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in outdoor-rated actuators, servo mechanisms, and home automation triggers. I will design a reliable outdoor servo system to swing an 8-inch lever 90-100 degrees via a connecting rod, ringing an 80lb-inertia bell using a 12V DC motor (gear motor or high-torque servo) powered by a solar-charged battery. The design will include a wireless trigger (RF or dry contact) for your home automation, and non-drilling mounting (hose clamps) to the bell stand. Deliverables include dimensioned drawings, BOM, wiring diagram, and bench test video. I'm ready to discuss your existing bell and automation system. Best regards, Justin

Hello, no problem. I am a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in outdoor actuators, low-power automation, and simple swing mechanisms. I will design a reliable servo-arm system to swing your 80lb bell (via 8-inch lever, 90-100° swing) using a 12V DC supply (solar compatible), with a wireless trigger input (dry contact or momentary button). **Deliverables:** - Dimensioned drawings of arm, linkage, and mounts. - Bill of materials (motor, controller, wireless module, power supply). - Wiring diagram. - Bench test video (or stills) proving the bell rings successfully. I am ready to begin as soon as you provide the bell's pivot diameter (for mounting), the lever's current attachment point distance from pivot, and any required wireless range. Sincerely, Lorenzo
