The detailed introduction of one of my project is design and prototyping of a compact and cost effective AMT using electronic controllers and actuators. In the present design, three electric actuators (DC Motors) are used to shift the gears: one for clutch actuation and two for actuations of select and shift lines of the powertrain. The positions of all motors are identified to shift the gears. Three ECUs are designed to control the three motors, i.e., one ECU for clutch control and two ECUs for shift and select control. The clutch ECU is a master and remaining two are slaves. The control algorithms for the ECUs are designed as a PID controllers and modelled & simulated using Similink/Stateflow. To develop a prototype, GMk2xx 16bit ECU is selected. The code for the designed ECUs is generated using Targetlink [url removed, login to view] and integrated with the base software of the ECUs and ported into the ECUs. The ECUs and motors are integrated with actual powetrain and tests are carried out of the system.
