I am looking for an engineer that would be able to help me with a few projects around and inside my home. Long story short, my house had a fire nearly 18 months ago, we have been trying to deal with the insurance company to repair our home. In the process we would like to make a few minor changes including a new window downstairs in the basement living room and a small jet-out to accommodate a cabinet in the upstairs dining room. To get these among other things approved by the city we need an engineer to provide detailed drawings and approve these changes for the city to approve occupancy. There are a couple of other things we would need as well including rear deck and shed issues that need to get approval. Our insurance company and their engineer only approve the home to be repaired to its original state, and as said long story short, we would like to address these extras ourselves, and the city has stated they have no problems with any changes as long as they are approved by an engineer.
