We are launching a private school in the outskirts of Paris. The school is situated in a natural and rural area that has Lindenwood trees and the school will be called "Lindenwood International School". Below is the mission statement of the school to give an idea of the philosophy of the school. "Lindenwood awakens within a child their spirit for life and a love for learning. We educate the whole child in thinking, feeling and growing the sense of doing. The school is a safe and nurturing environment that considers the physical, emotional, social and intellectual spheres of childhood, passing beyond just intelligence, to developing free human beings. We develop a sense purpose and meaning in their lives. This is the reinvention of learning in response to the needs of the 21st century child" The logo design needs to be in the form of a crest, feature the school name and also include Paris in the design so that people are clear on the proximity of the school to Paris. Key to the design is the colour green to show that the setting of the school is natural and that nature will play a key part of the school. Inspiration for the shade of green can come from the Lindenwood trees themselves. Another interesting aspect of the trees when thinking about the crest is the heart shaped leaves. Even though we want a crest designed we don't want it to feel too traditional or old fashioned, this is a school for the future. In the attachment is an example of a school logo that works quite well.
