I need an init.d and CRON script wrote up that will simply rsync two folders. The first folder is stored under Root, and the second is to be created & sync'd with dev/shm/ (loading in to RAMDisk).
Operating System: CentOS 5.5
Currently we are using [url removed, login to view] to run the following;
> mkdir /dev/shm/minecraft
> mkdir /dev/shm/minecraft/world
> cp -r /root/Minecraft/worldhdd/world/ /dev/shm/minecraft/
And a CRON job to then sync these, every 30mins;
> */30 * * * * bash /root/Minecraft/[url removed, login to view] &>/dev/null
the .sh has the following;
> rsync -r -t -v "$VOLATILE" "$PERMANENT"
However, this does not appear to be working correctly.
Any assistance with the above is appreciated.
We're also looking to change our [url removed, login to view] script to init.d, to ensure that the rsync is run before ANYTHING else on the system. We also need this init.d script to also run on shutdown, but syncing the RAMDisk (dev/shm) back to the worldhdd folder.
Please provide a basic rundown of how you intend to achieve this in your bid. Bidders with a good work history preferred.
