Centos Web Hosting Server with Multiple Websites Migrated to New Server
Betalt ved levering
Need an expert Centos, CWP Web Panel, vultr, Contabo, cloudfare, email configuration, DNS, dmark, dkim , Apache/Nginx, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, etc expert.
Please only bid if you are qualified and have done this work before.
A Centos web hosting is installed on vultr VPS and it’s hosting several websites. We want to move everything to a new server Contabo.
Not sure if you can just copy an image snapshot and make it work, but we also have the steps.
* Backup the data: Create backups of all your website files, databases, emails, configurations, and any other important data.
* Take note of configurations: Document all server configurations, such as software versions, settings, and special configurations for each website.
* Set up the new hosting server:
* Install CentOS on the new server.
* Configure necessary software like Apache/Nginx, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, etc., matching the versions and settings from the old server.
* Transfer website files:
* Copy all website files from the old server to the new server. You can use tools like rsync or scp to securely transfer files.
* Export and import databases:
* Export all databases from the old server.
* Import these databases to the new server, ensuring usernames, passwords, and permissions match.
* Adjust configurations:
* Update configuration files (like Apache/Nginx virtual hosts) on the new server to point to the correct directories and settings for each website.
* Modify DNS settings or hosts file to temporarily point your domain to the new server for testing.
* Test functionality:
* Test each website on the new server to ensure everything works as expected. Check functionality, links, database connections, etc.
* Finalize the migration:
* Once everything works flawlessly, update DNS settings to point your domains to the new server.
* Monitor the new server for a while to ensure everything remains stable after the migration.
* Post-migration checks:
* Perform thorough checks to make sure all emails, cron jobs, SSL certificates, and any other services are working correctly on the new server.
* Cancel old hosting service:
* Once you're certain the migration is successful, cancel your old hosting service.
* Downtime: Try to minimize downtime by performing the migration during off-peak hours.
* SSL Certificates: Ensure SSL certificates are installed correctly on the new server to avoid security warnings.
* Email Services: Migrate emails if you're hosting them on the server and update email client configurations after migration.
* Backup and Documentation: Keep backups of both old and new servers until you're completely confident in the migration's success.
* Security: Update firewall settings, ensure proper permissions, and apply security patches on the new server.
Always proceed with caution and double-check at each step to avoid data loss or service interruptions.
