Comprehensive Laravel Codebase Audit

I. Background Our company is in the final stage of delivering its new Laravel-based website. Although functional requirements are approximately 90% complete, concerns have arisen regarding code quality, security, maintainability, and scalability. A technical audit is required before the final acceptance. II. Objectives The objective is to assess the internal quality of the website’s codebase, its security posture, performance characteristics, and adherence to Laravel best practices, in order to support an informed decision on final project acceptance. [login to view URL] - Review the structure and organisation of the Laravel codebase (MVC, Service Providers, Middleware, etc.) - Evaluate code readability, reusability, modularity, and adherence to Laravel style guides. - Analyse performance: Eloquent ORM usage, query optimisation, and caching. - Review security posture (CSRF, XSS, SQL Injection, file upload handling, auth logic …). - Examine the `.env` and configuration files for hardcoded secrets or misconfigurations. - Assess database structure and migration logic. - Evaluate scalability and maintainability. - Deliver a comprehensive final report as described in section VI. IV. Timeline Duration: 7–10 working days V. Access Required - Laravel code source. - Database schema. - Demo environment VI. Expected Deliverables The auditor must deliver a comprehensive report containing: - Executive Summary: General code health assessment (Acceptable / Conditional / Unacceptable), overview of findings. - Issue Classification: Critical (must-fix), Major (should-fix), Minor (optional). - Detailed Findings: File/function/line, potential risk, suggested fix. - Audit Areas: Code Quality, Performance, Security, DB Review, Laravel practices. - Recommendations: Prioritised list of improvements, roadmap.
