I have a self-help book, translated from Hindi into Kannada, that now needs a proofread and light edit before it heads to layout. The file is well over 90,000 words, so endurance and an eye for detail are both essential. Your core task is to remove every last bump—grammar slips, spelling errors, punctuation glitches and awkward sentence constructions—while keeping the author’s original meaning intact. The tone must stay consistently formal throughout, yet still warm and motivational in keeping with the genre. Worked as a Kannada teacher, taught old Kannada also for grade 7, 8, 9, 10 students, currently I teach English language in an IB school.
