I'm currently building a tool in React w/ Fuse template that will allow providers to document clinical encounters with patients. Often such interactions involve repetitive phrases or sentences that involve text that can easily be modified.
For example, for a diabetic our macro or template may look like this:
[Mr/Mrs] [Lname] is a [age]-year old [sex] who presents to the [location] for management of [diabetes]. [He/she] has been [compliance] with therapy. There have been [problems] with medications. [He/she] [does/does not] perform home monitoring.
The software will need to know that some sentences will have conditional responses. So in the last sentence above, if the user selected "does" (perform monitoring) then another set of sentences will appear:
Blood sugars have been in the [blood sugar range].
To be more specific about terminology, I have designed 2 definitions. A "macro" drops these sentences into a single part of the chart. A "template" drops the sentences into several different sections of the chart. The documentation, or chart, is divided into several sections with different types of data. See the video called "template" that shows how the template is created and how data is dropped into each section of the note. This allows for rapid documentation (which of course is the goal for this project).
See the videos for examples.
So these selections or elements will need to be defined in admin by the user.
I'm looking to incorporate this into the larger project which is currently being worked on.
