This project is for improving an existing site, with the current code in production since 2013.
The client for this project works with annual memberships in the home exchange business. The site is in multilanguage, as can be seen in [login to view URL]
The client now needs an extra help in development for creating new features and adjusting old ones.
All the project is on Github, so you will be given read access to it.
Please note the code delivered MUST be readable and well documented (in English). By the end of this project, each issue should be fully functional, tested thoroughly and available to the public on the production server.
We want to optimize the National Representatives page.

The content of this page is produced in the server, by querying the database by country national representatives and generating the HTML with the information that corresponds to each agent.
For many countries in Africa and Asia we don't have specific national representatives, and therefore they are represented by a specific person (Lucian Mazik). As the code is at the moment, the information for Lucien Mazik is repeated 261 times, and it should be only one. This is not the unique case, there are currently cases of sharing the same agent, like Germany-Austria. Others may exist in the future.
We would like to:
- Have the code changed so that it detects when the same information is being shown to several countries and avoid the code repetition. We want this change to happen in the server, so that we do not need to transfer repeated information to the user.
- Make the query/code more robust to handle the situation when we have an agent that is not assigned to any country. Currently, if this happens the page gives an error.
Please notice that the website is in multilanguage, and therefore the pages must continue to be shown in the language chosen by the user.
You will post 5 projects in the marketplace for five different tasks, but with similar introduction. Please make sure you have read and understood the task before bidding.
