VM's are backed up automatically nightly using snapshots. Please create a weekly script to copy snapshot of production VMs (tagged stack="PROD") to us-west-region. We should also copy key development resources such as the jenkins VM and Subversion servers. With these cloudformation scripts and our nightly snapshots we could recreate our VPC in another region if necessary. Also, please update the nightly snapshot backup job to automatically tag the snapshot that are copied with "components", "stack", "purpose". these tags will be important so that we can identify the snapshots when recreating the environment.
