Project for simplycss only

THIS Project is for simplycss only.

Do not bother applying if you are not kioluong

We are looking for an expert CSS/HTML coder for a sophisticated consumer web application.

Because of the size of our application and complicated features we need someone to help build a scalable, easy to understand & maintain interface. Included in the UI are many JavaScript and JQuery elements.

You will be required to follow standardized naming conventions (using classes and generalized styles instead of IDs).

For example, we have divided our CSS into different files. One to manage page layouts, one to manage style specifications, and others to manage function-specific styles and attributes. You will be required to follow these standards.

Obviously you will be expected to QA your work to ensure it works on all the popular browsers and related versions (IE, FF, Safari and Chrome).

In order to assess your level of skill we would like you to work on the following small test project.

Please bid on this test project ONLY.

If successful in the test we will have a lot bigger, longer projects for you.

Test Project Description:

Render a single XHTML file that has the layout, shared styles, and unique style separated into appropriate files. In other words, you'll see on these three slides, the same layout with some shared styling; but different color schemes and icons. So, the task is to produce the CSS in such a way that there is a minimal set of CSS that gets changed out depending on the scheme.

See attached PDF file.

Specials features and requests to note from these wireframes:

1. Left hand navigation column contains 3 separate sections:

- Jernel Brand (see the Jernel Icon) - use the graphic assets that you see in the attachments.

- Facebook Profile Picture (see item with picture of woman named Charlotte) - use the graphic assets that you see in the attachments.

- Jernel Navigator Control (see boxed item labeled Your Friend's Jernels). Render the XHTML for this item assuming that each of these links will be dynamically generated. The CSS id, class names, etc should be named in a way that demonstrates an understanding of the difference of when you might use a class vs. and ID for an element and should also be done in such a way demonstrating your knowledge of producing "templatable" XHTML code for systems that produce XHTML on-the-fly.

2. Please make a second copy of the Jernel Navigator Control html and change the text from "Your Friend's Journals" to "Other People's Jernels". Again, for both instances of this code, CSS Classes and IDs should be setup so that you can demonstrate when classes are ideal vs. IDs. For each link rendered in the Jernel Navigator Control html, explain why you chose the HTML tags you used to render this set of links.

3. For items in the right most column (see area headed by Step 2 of 2), you'll see descriptions of form elements. Please render the form elements with all the proper form tags. For radio buttons please label appropriately and be prepared to explain why you chose the HTML tags you used to render the options.

Once completed, you will need to submit your files via email. Be prepared to share your strategy (via Skype) for what you put together, to discuss why you chose the HTML tags you did and why you named your CSS the way you did.

You must provide examples of previous work you have done which demonstrate that you can follow proper CSS/HTML standard guidelines add the type of work described above. Please do not bother applying if you have not demonstrated a high level of proficiency in this area.

Perfect English is a basic requirement.

If you are not comfortable having a conversation on Skype in English then please do not apply.
