I need few lines of code in Java. The objective is to merge 2 or more datasets. For somebody that knows Java, this will really take 1 minute.
There are 2 or more files, csv. File 1 contains information on firms. In column B there will be the tax file # associated to each firm. I believe each # will show up only once, although I am not 100% sure and we need to take into account that.
If column A in file 1 is empty,
Step 1: for each tax file #, we have to create a new # (in ascending order). Write this new # in column A in file 1.
Step 2 - verify that column A in file 2 is empty. In file 2 column B there are the tax file #. Each tax file # will show up more than once. We are unable to know the order in which the tax file # will show up in file 2 nor how many times they show up. For each tax file # in column B file 2, associate the corresponding new # in column A file 1 and write it in column A file 2.
If column A file 1 is not empty, then do step 2 using the new # already present in file 1.
Basically, you want to create a program that asks the the user to select file 1 and 2 from a folder (call file 1 "main file" and file 2 "secondary file") and then it does what I explained above
do not erase any column.
