Java: Find fastest solution for low latency HTTP REST POST/DELETE requests

I need the fastest solution to perform HTTP Posts with lowest latency. My multithreaded Java application makes several HTTP POSTs and DELETEs per Minute ( varies between just a couple and a few hundreds ). The destination is a HTTPS server located in the public internet. The latency of these requests is mission critical. I am fully aware that REST is the wrong technology to achieve low latency. But this can not be changed. So the task is: Make a performance test with several possible solutions. Unfortunately I can not provide a server with an endpoint to test. So you also have to setup a testing environment. Provide detailed documentation of the test and provide the full code. Create a Class which I can use afterwards in my program. The class should provide at least the following functions: - Perform a HTTP POST request to a specific function of a given api url and return the result as String as well as the HTTP response code. - Perform a HTTP DELETE request to a specific function of a given api url and return the result as String as well as the HTTP response code. Please also provide JUnit Tests for the class testing against a mockup server. I can not provide any of my code to you since it is confidential but of course I could provide an interface to implement.
