I need to be able to export html reports from a database where some of the fields will contain html. The html generated from a very restricte TinyMCE editor and as such will only contain some very few tags, br,i,u,b ...
I need to be able to control the visual expression of the report 100%:
so ideally I one of the following:
- would need a HTML template where I can control the report skeleton, the css files
- be able to control the html jasper is generating for the html report.
The person need to be really knowledgable in JasperReports (both building the source code, debugging it and building reports)
The final report html needs to go through a second step which is html to pdf conversion but we can use a 3 party tools for that.
Why not just generate a pdf report?
Because I do not know how to render the html content inside the database in jasper reports, the only way I can think about is merging the html template with the html data in the database and then generating a pdf from that.
Other suggestions are welcome.
- can use IReport to design the report and it looks very very close in the html output (almost pixel perfect - the current html rendering leave quite a bit to be desired)
