WebCam Java
Budget $250-750 USD
The job is relatively simple and is offered as a test. If you complete this project in a timely fashion we have more work.
Go to [url removed, login to view] and click on any of the cameras. As an example, [url removed, login to view] will show an image that was last taken via a live camera that FTPs the image to a server. Currently this page will only display IF visitors are using OLDER versions of Java such as Java JDK 5.0 Update 15 with NetBeans IDE 6.1, etc.
With older versions of java the cam pages update and display a new image with regular frequency. With NEWER versions of Java (such as that on Vista machines or those that receive Java's latest updates) the cam pages ONLY show the most recent image FTPd but they do NOT subsequently update the page with new images every few seconds or so.
What we need is some application (Java or Flash) that can take the latest file that a camera uploads to the server and display it on the webpage without PAGE REFRESH. We need the display to be as smooth as possible without image breaks, etc.
Currently to make the images refresh, we have an older [url removed, login to view] file that resides on the server folder, but evidently that older java or class script is not compatible with the newer versions of java and therefore visitors hitting those pages are not able to see updating images, etc.
