Internet marketing for SMEs

I'm Manuel and Im' a student of a Master Degree in Mechatronics , I'm 23 years old. I live in Valpantena, Verona, in a hamlet where, since 1960, there are a lot of businnesses which work with marble and granite. Sadly, crisis has put many companies in difficulty and only now the things seem to be better. My family has a little enterprise that works in this sector. The idea is to develop a website where customers can see the products we have and maybe can call the company or buy something on the net. My idea is very vague and I don't know very much how it is possible to realize it. I mainly want to discuss with someone that maybe has already had an experience like that, in order to understand more about this possible choice and if it is a good idea or not. If this idea will be good and suitable for our businnes, my dream is to extend it to other businnesses and create a center where a customer choose what he need and the site leads he to the right place.
