Need 76,000 Word Book Copyedited in InDesign

Dear Author, The problem you have outlined is not that unusual. I worked for 42 years publishing a great variety of educational materials. I also assisted a colleague with many of his self-published books. There are several options to address your problem: 1. Fortunately InDesign has a 'track changes' option [login to view URL] (similar to Microsoft Word). However it must be remembered that significant editorial changes will result in layout changes. All layout changes/corrections should only be done once all editorial and proofreading changes have been made. It is a two-step process. 2. Annotations on a PDF file of the InDesign file. This option is only practical if there are only a few changes/suggestions per page. 3. Export each chapter to Microsoft Word, edit document using track changes, finalize text and import back into the InDesign file. I would only suggest this option if there are to be significant editorial changes to be made throughout the book. Of course a book with photos, diagrams, tables and captions will have greater challenges as far as layout is concerned if there are significant editorial changes. For this reason I would suggest a timeframe of at least 14 days. I have worked with InDesign since version 2 (Adobe suggested I skip version 1 due to the size of books I was publishing). I have extensive experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly with InDesign. To edit this, I would break down any changes made by page groupings (or chapters if the book is situated that way.) So in the separate document, you would be able to search each chapter for the major changes. I would also include links at the beginning of the separate document to easily jump from section to section. If any changes were substantial, I also have the understanding to help fix the layout of the book if needed.
