I need a poster for a skateboard event: Mt Keira IDF Downhill World Cup. The poster bit and the heading etc I can manage, however I want a skateboard graphic in a Jim Phillips style (examples attached). It is an illustration I need, although it will become a poster.
The event is a skateboard race down a mountain in Australia.
We are a non profit organisation, not a large promoter or events company. This event is run for the communit not for profit. We require any image created to be used copyright free and the image is allowed to be used for any purpose without permission. Such as if we decide to use the whole image or part of the image for a tee shirt design. After completed payment, full rights to use the image is transfered to ASRA (Australian Skateboard Racing Association).
Mt Keira is the name of the mountain we are racing on. The indigenous people have a creation story that the mountain was formed from a girl who waited so long for her sisters to return she turned to rock and a mountain. I want the top of the image to be the shape of the mountain and inside that shape a girls face/head. The main image is the photo of the skaters going down the mountain.
The mountain is covered in rainforest. So around the edge of the image is vines, tree trunks with arms and creatures mixed in like a Jim Phillips drawing. I would prefer women (g rated) to be the creatures but I'm happy with your ideas. I like the idea that some of these creatures are arms stretched and grabbing onto teh skateboard wheels, holding them back, making them crash.
I want the image to be black and white.
I have attached images of teh jim phillips style I want. There is a image of a girls head. There is a mock up of the image I did using various elements I have attached. There is also a phot of the skaters plus various location images - so you can see the shape of the mountain and also what the actual road looks like.
I love doing illustration and used to skateboard a lot. I am a big fan of Jim Phillips and you can see on my website: [url removed, login to view] that I do a lot of illustration work.
