We are an indie board game company that has a completed game with a set of edited rules (in bullet point format) and some art assets that need to be integrated into a printed rule book. The output will also be used for online content as well.
The game theme is set in feudal Japan, so an appreciation for that style is desired. A further theme of is elegance, so we actively avoid cartoons, anime and other similar styles.
The written content will need to be enhanced with content, where appropriate, to ensure a strong and speedy comprehension by a new player. The written content is about 2500 words long. Although the game is finished, the 3D art assets are in development. The 2D art assets are mostly complete. We have enough art assets to put together the initial design for this effort, but anticipate revisions once all art assets are available.
We are looking for that elegant combination of a writer, editor and print graphic designer who will take the content we have and enhance it so that it has a natural flow and are complimented by the graphics to make them intuitive. We also need to create a quick reference guide using excerpts from the rule book.
The following skills are critical:
Excellent English written and verbal skills
Strong experience with print formatting
Friendly and responsive communications
A great sense of humor
Familiarity with board games is a huge plus
