Job Description:
Plurana is a culttech startup that makes art more accessible to people. Our goal is to digitise world ornamental heritage, and now we are looking for remote digital artists and illustrators willing to recreate authentic patterns. As part of our team, you will work with objects of different cultures and epochs and will have a chance to familiarise yourself with the collections of world-renowned museums. *You’re our ideal candidate if you are*
- an expert user of Adobe Illustrator (it is crucial as all reconstructions should be in the AI format) and have the most recent version of this programme;
- a productive artist able to reconstruct 100 patterns in 1-2 months;
- a self-disciplined and accurate person paying great attention to details. It is vital that you name all folders and files in a coherent way, do not mess up layers, etc.;
- interested in long-term employment.
*It’s cool if you*
- have any educational background in fine or applied arts;
- have relevant experience in the sphere of culture and arts.
*What we offer*
- A stable salary of 1200 eur for each set of 100 patterns. Note that this is not a monthly wage: recreating this many patterns may take you from three to six weeks depending on your skills and productivity, so your monthly income correlates with how much you can do.
- Flexible working hours, as you decide how to organise your workload. The position is fully remote.
- Long-term employment, as we are interested in creating an exhaustive database of patterns.
- Particular terms of employment will be discussed individually with the successful candidates, but keep in mind that we do not offer paid leaves and insurance. Usually, our artists are self-employed freelance workers, and this is our preferred format.
*How to apply*
1. First, make three test reconstructions (the detailed description of the task is here [login to view URL]). Please note that this task is unpaid and that we will not use the results for any commercial or non-commercial purposes - it is only needed to assess your candidacy.
2. Second, make up a portfolio of relevant works. If it is on a website or a cloud storage platform, please check that it can be freely accessed.
3. Third, prepare a CV where you indicate the following information:
- the country where you reside and your time zone;
- the country where you have your bank account (preferably including the bank’s name) that you plan to use for receiving the salary;
- your preferred format of employment (e.g. self-employed full-time worker open for long-term cooperation).
4. Send the link to the task results together with the PDF (see the test task's description), your CV, and your portfolio to our email address (find it here [login to view URL]). In the subject line, please write your surname with initials and add ‘Position Digital Artist at Plurana’ (e.g. Doe, J. Position Digital Artist at Plurana). Ideally, add to the letter your reasons for applying and your current job status.
Please bear in mind that we are unable to process incomplete applications. After your CV and portfolio are reviewed by our HR manager, we will send your test task results to our digital art experts for review. The latter stage can sometimes take up to a month, and you will be notified about any decision made from our side.
