Chat server using php -- 2

This is not a business but more of a community service .We have an open source chat server loaded onto a dedicated online server. The chat server uses php, mysql and is linked together with xampp. The problem we have is getting the mysql and php talking to each other to allow the server to run properly. Looking for someone with php mysql and phpmyadmin knowledge .

The server runs to a point that allows users to get to the login page but when a user tries to login it comes up with a mysql error.
