It’s a rich story (extensive background info available) but the highlights are: -Lived in the same property (Miami, Florida, US) for about 16 years prior to building new home. In a historic little cottage in a great, long established, neighborhood with lots of land-original home built 1936. Actually Amelia Earhart was friend s with the owners then, a local historian mentioned she visited the home. She flew on her last flight from Miami in 1937.- Moved in when children were 1 and 2 years old-We were going to build in in 3-4 years, kept getting postponed , getting ready financially, business with the firm growing and were very busy too so didn’t have time to embark on project, etc.-drew about 4 different designs that morphed during the years, in the meantime continued our journey of sourcing for clients’ commissions, local antique stores , the nationally and the international travels as clientele grew,(Morocco, Egypt, Jordan and places like that)-As we travelled-sourced for clients we started acquiring pieces here and there when the opportunity arose for ourselves, had mosaics, pottery, oversized windows from a French home-1850 –concerted to bar cabinetry- stone vessels , paintings, moon temple, etc…- all warehoused for 5-10 years waiting to be summoned-Finally broke ground and built a home that has become a 3 dimensional diary of our travels, interests, journeys.. of our lives. All being documented with lengthy interviews and photo shoots to be unveiled in [login to view URL] not only designed the Architecture , interior design, landscaping design, etc. but WE BUILT IT as well.
