I am a one-man design team working on a nintendo-style 2D platform game (not mobile). Looking for an expert in good game design, preferably a level designer with NES and SNES game familiarity (Super Ghouls and Ghosts, Little Samson, Mr. Gimmick!, Super Metroid, Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, Super Mario World, Battletoads, Donkey Kong Country 2, Megaman X).
Looking for blueprinting or rough annotated sketches on complete level designs with intricate ideas and complex concepts that will be both fun and challenging for the player. No coding or art required. Looking for level designs that will progressively increase in difficulty with challenging boss fights and a design that teaches the player how to player through experience, not by telling them what to do. Anyone with rom hacking or level modding experience is definitely preferably but not required.
This will be a game of decent length for a modern platformer so if the designs work and we are able to wor together, it will be a long-term project. Hope to hear from anyone interested in this project!
