We are writing a Christian theological book about a controversial topic -- male-female equality in the church and family ( okay, this topic is very *NON* controversial in some churches, but *VERY* controversial in others). The working title is "Male-Female Equality In Christ". Even though the topic is controversial and highly academic, the book is meant to be as informal, casual, friendly, and easy-to-read as possible. The design/style/formatting of the book should reflect that. It should not look like a textbook or theology handbook. It should look more like a devotional book, or novel.
I am looking for rough ideas for a book cover design. I don't know what I want at this point, so I am only looking for concepts.
Some keywords to ponder: Christianity. Cross of Christ. Adam and Eve. Garden of Eden. Tree of Life. Apple. Serpent. Male-female relationships. Equality. Church. Husband-wife. Love and respect. Mutual Submission. "no male/female division in Christ". "woman is not separate from man in the Lord". Male-female equality. Church leadership as service. Husband-wife equality. Mutual love and respect. mutual submission. female elders and teachers. "Junia outstanding among the apostles". "Phoebe deacon of the church of Cenchreae". Female co-workers of Paul. Head/source. What about headship? "Let women be silent in the churches".
Likes: Beautiful art. Historic images if crafted beautifully. Simple images with emotional content. Images that suggest motion.
Dislikes: Bright pink/orange (if your concept includes color).
